The Naselle/Grays River Valley School District Board of Directors met for its monthly meeting on Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Middle School Commons.
After approval of the consent agenda, a review of the procedures for Policy 3211, Gender-Inclusive Schools, was conducted. About fifteen residents attended the meeting. Seven expressed concerns with the logistics of the new legislation. No decisions were made regarding the procedural piece of the policy.
The following policies were adopted: 6230 Relations with Vendors and 3241 Student Discipline.
A first read of policies 4215 (Use of Tobacco, Nicotine Products and Delivery Devices) and 5404 (Family, Medical and Maternity Leave) was conducted.
In personnel matters, the board approved the hire of Karli Nelson as a bus driver.
The last two action items included approval of the Facilities Committee Five Year Master Plan and overnight travel for winter sports and activities.
An executive session was held near the end of the regular meeting to conduct an evaluation of the superintendent.
The next regular school board meeting will be Dec. 17 at the Grays River Fire Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m.
