Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Work on the Puget Island bridge moves toward completion. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, crews need to finish paint coat applications on the pedestrian rail, install compression and strip seals at expansion joints, install the permanent signs and pavement markings, and remove all traffic control devices. The contractor anticipates work to be completed in a few weeks. The department hasn't yet made a final decision about what to do with the osprey nest; the structure wasn't intended to be permanent.
