Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Put on your dancing shoes and join the Peninsula Association of Performing Artists in a night of music and dancing at the historic Fort Columbia Theater as PAPA presents The Dukes of Swing, Saturday, October 5, from 5-8 p.m. The 18-piece Dukes of Swing Band will play music of the Swing and Big Band Era performing authentic and timeless swing music of the great Big Band leaders.
All ages are welcome. There will be a suggested minimum donation of $10 per person for admission with all donations benefiting veterans through the local American Legion.
The Dukes of Swing have been playing dance music since 1948, generating excitement everywhere they perform. During the last few years the Dukes have performed as the opening act for some big name groups such as Manhattan Transfer, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
The Dukes will make PAPA’s evening entertainment special by playing an assortment of great dance music including latin, fox trots, waltzes, ballads, and swing.
Appetizers and non-alcoholic refreshments will also be available during the event for a small donation and no Discover Pass is needed to enter Fort Columbia. Dancing is welcome, but not required as the event is informal, and patrons are welcome to drop in as well as stay for the entire evening.
