Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Wahkiakum Outdoors will offer a very interesting presentation at 6:30 p.m., on September 24 at the Hope Center (3rd and Maple Streets) regarding the important role of the Cathlamet Amateur Radio Club in our communities’ safety. They are integral to our local Search & Rescue and Emergency Management functions. (Club President) Gordon Spalding will show highlights of their activities and identify where you can assist them.
Our local HCA Community Based Specialist, Rochelle Cothren, will be at the community center again on the first Wednesday of the month, October 2 from 10-noon. If you have an open application in the Washington Health Plan Finder for Washington Apple Health and are coming up against problems, Rochelle is the one to visit. She is available to assist with renewals and to fix errors on applications that have already been submitted. If you need to start an application, the community center has computers available for use. These can be accessed during open hours which are Mon – Wed. 9-1 p.m., Thurs 9-noon, and Fridays 10-1 p.m.
As always, everyone is welcome to join in the ongoing events at the community center such as the Walking group that meets at 9 a.m., Monday through Friday, Cribbage on Wednesday evening from 7-9, Sandra Sews on Thursdays at 10 a.m., Brown Bag at 11 a.m., on Fridays, and Free Movie Night from 7-9 p.m., Fridays.
If you have any questions regarding schedules or events, please contact us at 360-795-7870 Monday- Wednesday 9-1 p.m., or Thursdays from 9-noon.
