Robert Fritzie

Robert H. Fritzie, 73, was born in Longview on July 31, 1946 to Nogi and Rae (Pederson) Fritzie. He died in Vancouver surrounded by his loved ones on August 15, 2019.

Robert lived on Puget Island all his life until time spent at Beacon Hill Care Center in Longview. He loved "The Island," the river and his "Swede-Wegion" heritage.

Robert graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1964. While in high school he began his long career with Brusco Tug and Barge. Robert was a log boom operator and ran log dumps at Carrolls, Woodland and Deep River. He was employed there from 1962-1996. He will be remembered as a guy with an infectious laugh and a man who never met a stranger. He loved to tell stories and visit with friends while cruising around the Island. He always carried his camera, capturing memories and moments. He enjoyed road trips to visit his daughter in Sandpoint, Idaho. Robert loved classic cars and owned several over the years.

He is survived by his son, Robby (Krista) Fritzie; daughter Judy Fritzie and his best friend Judy Marsyla; four grandsons, Blain and Chase Fritzie and Jordan and Jesse Collins and three great grandchildren, Cayln, Kooper and Pierce Fritzie.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie Fritzie.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 14 at The Bridge Church on Puget Island at 1 p.m.

Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
