Burglary suspects turn themselves in

Jacob Childers, 18, turned himself in to the Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday morning, 14 days after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection to a burglary at the Skamokawa General Store on August 14.

Bail was set for $50,000 for Childers, who was still in jail as of Tuesday night.

Haley Kerstetter was also taken into custody in relation to the burglary. She was able to post bail, set at $15,000, on Tuesday and was released.

Several thousand dollars worth of inventory was stolen during the August 14 incident, including alcohol and cigarettes.
