National Night Out event well attended

To The Eagle:

Last Tuesday, August 6, the Puget Island Fire Department hosted its 3rd annual "National Night Out" event at the fire hall. We had a large number of friends and neighbors stop in to say hello and enjoy hot dogs and root beer floats, making it a tremendously successful event. It was a fun evening for all involved and a pleasure meeting and visiting with people from our community.

We would like to thank two of our local businesses, River Mile 38 for the root beer donation and the Cathlamet Market for donating the ice cream, along with the Wahkiakum County Department of Emergency Management for providing the hot dogs. Without your assistance, none of this would have been possible.

Also a big shout out to all the volunteers at Puget Island Fire Department who stepped up to organize and host this special event, and we can't forget Sheriff Mark Howie and his team members for attending and supporting the event. We look forward to doing this again next year, where we hope to meet even more of our community members.

Mike Beutler, Fire Chief

Puget Island Fire Department
