Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The Wahkiakum Blooms have completed their summer planting season and would like to thank all who made it a success. Dan Silverman of Skamokawa Gardens supplied the flowers for the blue pots, the Wahkiakum Chamber provided financial support, and businesses and individuals are sponsoring and watering flowers. Anyone interested in sponsoring a pot or who wish to be part of the Blooms watering team may pick up a Blooms brochure at Daisy Chain Floral, 65 Main St., in Cathlamet.
New to their beautification efforts are four cigarette disposal receptacles donated by Mile 38 Brewery. Cigarette filters are not biodegradable so the receptacles may help keep streets clean. They are designed to put out cigarettes without discarding them on the pavement. Just insert the cigarette into the receptacle hole.
The receptacles are located by Hotel Cathlamet, the Columbia Saloon, the Cathlamet Pharmacy (purchased by pharmacy), Mile 38 Brewery, and on the corner by Patty Cakes.
