Elaine Zeller showed off her work inspired by Gustav Klimt at the Wahkiakum High School Art Show hosted by Tsuga Gallery last Thursday. A few minutes later, she made her first sale, when another piece was purchased for $20.

Wahkiakum High School senior Makaila Bigelow stood by her digital art work. She started with a skull, but realized it needed more and added a dreamcatcher, which gave the picture a little more depth and color, and had the potential to elicit a different story from anyone who viewed it.

Students were asked to use artist Gustav Klimt as inspiration for a project, and senior Kayla Wisner imagined a slave, set free into dreams of a golden life. Her work is on the wall to her right.
