Lower Columbia College (LCC) has welcomed Western Governors University (WGU) Washington to the Lower Columbia Regional University Center on the LCC campus.
The community is invited to a WGU Partnership Celebration on April 17. The event will begin with an Opening Ceremony from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. LCC President Chris Bailey and WGU Washington Chancellor Tonya Drake will both make remarks. There will also be an Open House from 12 – 2 p.m.
Refreshments will be served at both events, which are free and open to the public. All activities will be held in the Alan Thompson Library Building lobby.
Dr. Tonya Drake, former Longview resident, has been the Chancellor of WGU Washington since 2018. She is a graduate of R.A. Long High School and Lower Columbia College. She has held leadership positions in higher education for 25 years, including Edmonds Community College, Shoreline Community College, Maricopa Community College District, Arizona Board of Regents, Arizona State University, and the University of Washington.
