Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Nicole Emery of Daisy Chain floral will be offering a series of classes, beginning this weekend.
This Sunday, participants will be making a Kokedama, a traditional Japanese hanging potted plant, minus the pot. Instead, an ornamental selected by each student, will be planted in a ball of soil wrapped in moss.
Each month, Emery will teach participants how to create something new, including terrariums, wreaths, and floral arrangements. Along the way, students will learn about plants and how to care for them.
“Plants are beautiful,” Emery said. “They purify air, they are pretty to look at, and some of them help with insomnia.”
This Sunday’s class will cost $25. The cost each month will depend on the project and the price of supplies.
To sign up for the class to make a Kokedama on Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m., or for any other questions, contact Nicole Emery at Daisy Chain Floral, located on Main Street in Cathlamet. 360-849-4400.
