Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
There is yet another new club being introduced by the community center. Its membership is free, there are not any meetings to attend and you can participate at your leisure. You all are cordially invited to be a part of Wahkiakum RAKS, be a RAKer, RAK up points, and share your latest RAK anonymously by writing it down and dropping it into the RAK JAR. What is RAK? This all-inclusive club focuses on Random Acts of Kindness, whether you were RAK’ed or you RAK’ed someone, we want to hear about it. You can email your RAK story to wahkiakumcommunitycenter@gmail.com or stop by the CC to add it to the RAK JAR. Sometimes it’s a tiny action that can truly brighten a day or even change a life. We are especially encouraging kids, pre-teens and teenagers to RAK, too. Share your story, get lifted on feeling good.
In other news, anyone interested in volunteering for the Summer Lunch Program, they are meeting Thursday the 11th at 1 p.m. Friday is going to be a great day here, Book Club is meeting @ 11 a.m. to enjoy some tea, snacks and a good read followed by movie night, starting at 7 p.m. We wish you all a safe and warm weekend. “Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself, is to do something for somebody else.”
