The Wahkiakum High School softball team lost two in a doubleheader to Mossyrock at home on Tuesday.

They lost the first game 22-6, and the second 16-0.

Coach Stephanie Green continues to see improvement in the young team.

“We lost both but the girls did some great things,” Green said. “Each one contacted the ball with the bat and made some great plays. My team captain Destiny Curl is modeling great leadership and hard work. Heidi Bruntmyer has done a great job of taking on the task at hand, anywhere I put her. Shantelle Shervey is knocking it dead in the outfield with great catches and plays. Pitchers continue to struggle but we are getting there. Sydney Akinsali pitched her first game ever and did really well. Aubrie Montgomery, Breyonna Montgomery, and Jordyn Watson are improving and becoming better pitchers every day. They are a great group of girls and a great team.”
