Lady Mules crush Ocosta, Kalama

The Wahkiakum Lady Mules continue to roll through the competition, adding two more wins this week.

The team beat Ocosta in a non-league game at home on Monday 79-32.

"Overall I thought we did a super good job," Coach Rob Garrett said. "It was fun to watch, they did a lot of the things we've been working on. One thing we've been working on is our angles defensively, giving yourself an angle to go for a slow or weaker pass. I thought they did a great job of that. Paige (Mace) really pressured the ball.

"Offensively we're passing the ball so well. We're getting wide open looks. Ellie (Leitz) and Jansi (Merz) really worked super hard on rebounds. Working for position instead of just watching the ball. It gives us extra possessions and extra looks. The goal is to get better and stay healthy. Our goal in the second half was to get in shape. It was a lot of fun to watch. They just keep getting better."

Macie Elliott had 24 points and seven assists, Ellie Leitz had a double double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, Paige Mace scored nine points and had seven steals. Mckensi Fluckiger added eight points. Jansi Merz had six points and eight rebounds. Charlie Ashe scored six points and had six steals. Destiny Curl and Reigha Niemeyer added three points apiece. Emmie Niemela, Alex Watkins, and Kimberlee Watkins scored two points each.
