A large crowd enjoyed good weather for the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce's annual holiday lighting festival last Saturday.
Above: when asked what she wanted for Christmas, Birdie Feather Friend was easy to please. A present, she replied. When pressed, it turned out she wanted a crown, just like the one she got to try on when she met Miss Washington USA, Evelyn Clark.
Right: Wahkiakum High School alum Evelyn Clark was recently crowned Miss Washington USA. She spoke to everyone who gathered in front of the courthouse to witness the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce's annual Tree Lighting Celebration.
Below: A local choir directed by Kathi Howell sang Christmas carols at the annual Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday while the crowd waited for someone to flip the switch and turn on the festive lights in front of the courthouse.
