Local Author Lilly Brock shares her new book just before Veteran's Day

Lilly Brock has just published Victory on the Home Front: A World War II Story and will share highlights during an author visit to the Cathlamet Public Library, Saturday, November 10 at 3:30 p.m.

She was inspired to locate and write the biographies of two different WW II veterans after finding letters written by her deceased father about his war-time experiences. Wooden Boats & Iron Men: A World War II Sailor's Life Story and His Passion to Help Save One of the Last Surviving PT Boats, and Ever a Soldier: Reflections of a Veteran from Horse Cavalryman to WW II to Vietnam, were the results of her desire to document and share the two men's first person accounts before they were lost forever. In Victory on the Home Front she is telling the equally important story of the women who contributed to the war effort during World II, in the life story of Priscilla, now 95, who built planes at Boeing while her husband Dean served in the Seabees.
