Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
May 30, 1956 - Sept. 27, 2018
Janine Ann Tischer-Strock was born May 30th, 1956, in Bend, Ore., and was brought home to our Lord on Sept. 27, 2018, in Longview.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Strock; two sons, Tyler Robinson (Kasey), and Casey Robinson (Sara); a daughter, Brittany Green (Brian); three brothers, Gary, Lee and Brent; three sisters, Sandy, Sharlene and Beverly; and eight beautiful grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Tischer and Artyce Quigley; and an older brother, John.
Janine held a special place in her heart for the friends and family she met throughout her AA program. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2015 and was given months to live. Knowing the Lord still had work for her to do, she never gave up the fight and refused to let cancer control her life. She was an inspiration to every single person who had the privilege of knowing her. Through her faith and an amazing gift from God, she used every day to bring joy, healing, guidance and compassion to all who crossed her path.
Although she is now gone from this world, her light will continue to shine in our hearts. The death of a loved-one is not the time to weep, for they are gone and shall no more return. This is a time for all to remember the pleasant times that were shared. Do not be selfish and wish them back. This is the time for rejoicing. The Lord our God has brought his child home to sit by him forever as they have gained eternal peace.
A celebration of Janine’s life, including a potluck, is planned from 2 to 4 p.m., Oct. 27 at the Kelso Elks. All are welcome, and encouraged to wear bright colors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
