Cross Country

Last week Wahkiakum runners participated at a Central 2B league meet hosted by Toledo at Lewis and Clark State Park.

John C. Thomas Warrior and eighth grader Kaiden Ray took 13th place out of 28 runners from five schools in a 2,500 meter race. He finished with a time of 13:08.

In a 5,000 meter race, junior Jamil Dimaano led Mule runners with a 22:05. He took 12th place out of 26 runners from five schools.

Freshman Levi Hauff took 21st place with a time of 25:12 and Leif Carroll took 23rd place with a time of 27:07.

For the girls, Kimberlee Watkins took 14th place out of 15 runners with a time of 42:03.

In Toutle Lake on Tuesday, Ray finished in 10th place in a 1.47 mile race with a time of 10:13.59. He was one of 17 runners from six teams.

Dimaano took 21st place in the 5,000 meter high school race with a time of 21:05.47. He was one of 40 runners from six teams. Carroll placed 30th with a time of 22:40.95 and Hauff took 37th with a time of 25:17.31.

Kimberlee Watkins took 11th place out of 17 runners with a time of 30:58.2 and Alexzandria Watkins took 13th place with a time of 32:21.26.

The teams travel to Ilwaco today (Thursday) to compete in the JW Black Lake cross country race.
