The Wahkiakum Mules volleyball team started the season with a win against R.A. Long in three sets at home last Wednesday, 25-19, 25-16, and 25-17.
"It was a great all around match," Coach Kayli Hurley said. "After shaking off some nerves in the first set, the girls went to work."
Senior Ellie Leitz had seven kills and three stuff blocks. Sophomore Jansi Merz had three kills and one stuff block. Senior libero Mckensi Fluckiger had 10 digs, and sophomore MJ Neves had seven digs and eight assists.
"My bench was on fire tonight," Hurley said. "That's such a huge part of our program here and they make a huge difference in our success. They totally nailed it tonight."
