Wahkiakum High School and John C. Thomas Middle School cross country runners competed in two events this week.
At a La Center meet last Wednesday, high school and middle school athletes ran a 1.5 mile course.
Eighth grader Kaiden Ray, the sole Warrior runner, came in 42nd in a field of 56. He finished with a time of 13:23.3.
Senior Leif Carroll led the Mule boys with a time of 11:47.9 for 81st place in a field of 109. Ninth grader Levi Hauff finished in 83rd place with a time of 11:49.3.
In a field of 53, ninth grade twins, Kimberlee and Alexzandria Watkins took 43rd and 44th place respectively, with times of 14:52.9 and 15:41.0.
The team traveled to Onalaska on Tuesday. Problems were reported with the timing equipment, but the following results were posted:
Ray joined 40 other runners in a 2,800 meter middle school race, and finished with a time of 12:32.62 for 18th place.
Carroll and Hauff were two of 91 runners in a 5,000 meter high school men’s race. Carroll finished with a time of 24:04.4 and took 70th place and Hauff took 73rd place with a time of 24:50.31.
Alexzandria Watkins took 41st place in a field of 56 with a time of 30:20.21 in the women’s 5,000 meter race. Kimberlee Watkins finished in 31:51.37 for 44th place.
Next Tuesday, the team travels to Randle for a Fast and Flat meet at Cascade Peaks.
