Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Fifteen individuals ran a rerouted Bald Eagles Day 5k/2-mile fun run on July 21 because of construction occurring on the Puget Island Bridge.
Participants ran behind town, past the museum, through the marina and braved a small stretch on the highway before turning around and retracing their steps back to the Cathlamet Pharmacy for the finish.
For the women, Chloe Buzzard came in first at 25:51 followed by Alexa Calvert, 27:19 and Carrie Badger 29:51.
For the men, Andrew Emlen came in first at 25:52, Scott Lamper 26:36, and Aaron Eaton at 30:45.
Other 5k participants came in at the following times, Rhonda Cameron 32:57, Marianne Brightbill 55:09, Carol Lampa 55:15, and Colten and Lacey Vik 57:38.
The two mile first place finisher was Sophie Buzzard coming in at 22:45 followed by Kylee Calvert 23:44, and Kay Cochran at 27:26. Syrus Rhodes was the only two mile male participant, clinching first place at a time of 23:41.
