Correction

A story in last week's edition stated that the US Army Corps of Engineers had excluded the lower portion of the Pancake Point/East Sunny sands erosion control zone district from proposed beach nourishment. In fact, county officials had excluded the area from the proposed nourishment site because Corps officials were concerned that it’s likely that deposited sand would erode into the channel which the Corps maintains for the county ferry, and that would be an unfunded expense to their dredging program. County officials feared that negotiations to include the area would delay the entire permitting process for all four erosion control zones.

In Brian McClain’s campaign ad in last week’s edition, we somehow inserted the address for St. James Family Center as his campaign address. That was incorrect; the center is not associated with his campaign.
