Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Community Home Health & Hospice’s Camp Cedars, a 3-day, residential camp for children who have experienced the death of a family member or close friend, is scheduled for August 17-19. The camp is the end of year finale for children who have been attending grief support groups since September 2017.
Camp Cedars helps children continue their grief work in a supportive, outdoor environment. Facilitated by trained staff, camp activities include talking circles, art, games and storytelling. The theme this year is The Journey of Grief. Attendees will take part in all kinds of activities including wave jumping, archery and riding donkeys. Children must attend grief support groups to participate in Camp Cedars over the summer. High Step Dance Academy, Kelso Rotary and Longview Junior Service League made significant contributions to the youth bereavement program and Camp Cedars. To inquire or register for grief support groups contact them at 360.703.0300 or griefsupport@chhh.org.
