Lower Columbia College (LCC) and the Lower Columbia College Foundation have announced the selection of Mr. Lou Mace as the 2018 LCC Alumni of the Year.
Mace graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1953 and attended LCC from 1954 to 1955. While at LCC, Lou was a Track and Field star in pole vaulting. In 1954, he placed second at the WAACC championships at 12-3. In 1955, Lou set a Washington state junior college record of 12-9 ¼. That same year, he claimed the WAAC championship title. Lou continued his education at Oregon State University (OSU) where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
