Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
To The Eagle:
The Challenge of Champions Pro Bull Riding exhibition will be held at the Wahkiakum County Fairgrounds in Skamokawa on Friday July 20. The gates open at 6p.m. with the event starting at 7:30 p.m .; admission is $15 before event and $20 at the gate with children 5 and under free. Food will be available on site. Tickets are available at the Duck Inn and Road Kill Saloon in Skamokawa; Johnson's One Stop in Naselle and Bob's Surplus in Longview.
The Fair Foundation has been working hard to bring this event to Wahkiakum County and would like to thank our latest sponsors: Astoria Ford, Englund Marine, Mike Swanson Realty, Cowlitz River Rigging, KUKN Radio, Heritage Bible Church of Puget Island, The Pizza Mill, Kelly's Painting Service, The Wahkiakum Eagle, Tony Aegerter, Johnson's One Stop, Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce, Linda Barth Insurance, Gribskov Glass, Joan Wren, The Cathlamet Market and Sam Longtain.
The support of the community has been great and we are expecting an exciting, fun family event to kick off Bald Eagle Weekend.
