Bald Eagle Days reminders

Submitted by Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce

Alright, Wahkiakum! Bald Eagle Days is coming in hot! Let’s get ready to welcome loads of visitors and make them feel welcome. Merchants - clean your shop windows, shine your shoes and get ready to make some money! Locals - enjoy the friends and family reunion. Friday, July 20th we will kick off the celebration with a Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest, Farmer’s Market, Tsuga Gallery Anniversary Party and Challenge of Champions Professional Bull Riders Exhibition at the Skamokawa Fairgrounds. Saturday, July 21st is packed full of events from dawn to dusk in downtown Cathlamet, which our endorphin happy fun runners will kick off. Saturday highlights include our Main Street Vendor Fair in downtown Cathlamet, which will run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., our “Families, Fish, Farms & Forests” themed Parade starting at noon, our Kid’s Corner, featuring a “Hungry, Hungry Hippos” giant inflatable, games, prizes and face painting, live music and beer gardens at Maria’s and River Mile 38 Brewery, and last but not least, fireworks over the Columbia River starting at 10 p.m., at Elochoman Marina. Don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket to have a chance to push the plunger to start the show!

A few reminders:

Please don’t forget that Main Street will be closed for all parking and through vehicle traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the street fair. The Chamber is requesting that all vehicles and trailers also be removed from the following Parade Route: Wahkiakum High School Parking Lot, down Elm Street to Columbia Street, down the Columbia Street hill to Main Street, down Main Street to Chester Street, from Chester Street to 2nd Street, and all the way down 2nd Street to the Marina Parking lot. Vehicles and trailers may be parked back on the parade route after the parade has concluded, around 2:00 p.m.

Don’t forget to turn in your parade applications and vendor applications! If you are interested in volunteering, we will gladly accept your help.

Thank you for your assistance. The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to another successful Bald Eagle Days Festival and we appreciate your cooperation. Thank you for helping to make our community festival a wonderful experience for everyone!
