Jody O. Havens, 66, of La Center, died June 22, 2018 at home. She was born to Norman and Danella (Frenter) Garrison on November 17, 1951 in Longview.
Jody was raised in Skamokawa and graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1970. In 1972 she graduated from Lower Columbia College with an AA degree. On July 29, 1973 she married Gary Havens. They lived in Cathlamet for several years before moving to Palmer, Alaska. They moved to La Center when returning to the local area and have lived there for 28 years.
Jody was an active member of Cedar Creek Seventh-day Adventist Church, she taught Sabbath School and Vacation Bible School but her greatest love was her family and fun with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, ceramics, quilting and gardening.
Jody is survived by her husband Gary Havens, two daughters Sara Brown (Michael) and Keri Peterson (Chad); two sons, Aron Havens (Wendy) and Joel Havens (Jessica); her mother Danella Murray; 11 grandchildren and a brother Gary Garrison.
A visitation will be held at Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home in Kelso on Saturday, June 30, 1-5 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 1, 1 p.m., at Cedar Creek Seventh-day Adventist Church in Woodland and a private burial will take place at Fernhill Cemetery in Skamokawa. Dowling Funeral Home of Cathlamet is in charge of arrangements.
