Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
To The Eagle:
Anyone going through Cathlamet this spring has to be impressed by how much nicer it looks, and those responsible deserve a large "thank-you."
The new sign at the courthouse looks so much better than the rotted one. The Wahkiakum Bloomers did a beautiful job of placing vibrant blue pots of red and white flowers along Main Street, and quite a few businesses followed suite, brightening up the downtown area and highlighting the painting of several stores in that area. Julius Dalzell whacked the brush and weeds along the waterfront trail, and the city is keeping the tall grasses cut, making it a beautiful place to walk.
With a place to stop and enjoy it all with a cup of coffee soon to be in place, Cathlamet downtown is so much improved. The triangular canopies at the farmer's market were a terrific idea, and the area from the brewery to the marina is very festive on Friday afternoons. Thank you very much to all involved; the town is greatly improved by your efforts!
