Summer reading program theme: Libraries Rock!

Young readers will explore all things related to music this summer as Cathlamet Public Library presents “Libraries Rock!” during their summer library program. Activities may include music demonstrations, playing simple musical instruments, constructing their own instruments, sound experiments, singing silly songs, games and more.

The 2018 Summer Reading Program is open to children and young teens, ages 5 to 15, with programs, prize drawings, story times, reading incentives, and more. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program.

Registration for “Libraries Rock” begins on Thursday, June 14, with the first program session starting Wednesday, June 20, and continuing every Wednesday except the 4th of July holiday, from 2:30-4:00 p.m., through August 10. The Summer Reading Program Schedule is:

June 20 – Percussion and Rhythm

June 27 – Brass and Woodwinds

July 4 – Library Closed.

July 11 – Strings and Keyboards

July 18 -- Nature Sounds / Sound Science

July 25 -- Silly Songs

August 1 – Styles and Stars

August 8 – Awards Party with Movie (until 4:30).
