Shanghaied in Astoria opens July 12

Astor Street Opry Company will present the 34th season of Shanghaied In Astoria, the Musical Melodrama. The 2018 season of Shanghaied In Astoria opens July 12 with a “Sneake Peek Weekend” July 6 & 7 at 7 p.m., and runs through September 1. Tickets are available now at http://www.asocplay.com.

Show times are 7 p.m., Thursday-Saturday, with three Sunday matinees at 2 p.m., on July 22, August 5 and August 19. Tickets are $20 for front row seats, All other seats – $15 adults; $10 children. This season they are featuring $10 Fridays, with all seats $10.

Shanghaied In Astoria began in the mid 80’s with a bare bones budget and has now grown into a piece of Astoria’s folklore, entertaining over 83,000 in its 34 season history. The story centers on the “Shanghaiing” of the hero and his daring rescue all in melodramatic style with audience participation by cheering, booing, sighing and throwing popcorn!
