The young Wahkiakum Mules softball team ended their season on Friday with two losses to Toutle Lake, 21-4 and 20-1.
"We lost," Coach Stephanie Green said, "but we were never defeated. The girls played hard and kept playing hard. M.J. Neves was 4/4 while several made contact consistently. There were some fielding errors, and Toutle Lake ran the bases aggressively, but it was a little bit of a different game for the girls.
"They impress me every day with their work ethic and their desire to keep going," Green continued. "Winning isn't always about the score, it's about the process or steps taken to get there. These girls are a light to this program. They each are uniquely made with strengths and weaknesses, striving for the same goal.
"Great job, Lady Mules," she said. "I am very proud of you."
