Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
William James Karwoski (Bill) of Rosburg, was born on July 13, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois and died March 12, 2018 at OHSU in Portland.
He was raised and received his education in Illinois and Missouri where he earned his PhD in Mining and Nuclear Engineering. His career path took him first to Boeing in the Seattle area, followed by the Bureau of Mines in Spokane, Grand Junction, Colorado and the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington.
Bill was a Wahkiakum 4-H Leader, Grays River Habitat Enhancement District board member, Grays River Grange member, a Ham radio operator and attended the Naselle Congregational Church. Previously, he had been a member of the Cape Disappointment Coast Guard Auxillary.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 11 at 4:00 p.m., in the Naselle Congregational Church.
