The Wahkiakum Mules track and field team joined 11 other teams to compete in the Pirate Classic at Adna High School last Thursday.
The Lady Mules scored 43.5 points to take fourth place in girls competition. The boys took 12th place with eight points.
Jansi Merz won the discus event, throwing a distance of 92-11, a personal record.
Ellie Leitz took second place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:48.35. She also took fifth place in the triple jump with a distance of 29-07.50.
Charlie Ashe placed third in the high jump, clearing 4-06.
Mckensi Fluckiger took fourth place in the triple jump with a leap of 30-05, and tied for fifth in the long jump with 13-10.
The 4x100 relay team of Teylor Sauer, Trinity Klecker, Fluckiger, and Macie Elliott took fourth place with a time of 58.37.
The 4x200 relay team of Ashe, Leitz, Fluckiger, and Elliott took second place with a time of 2:03.67.
Quentin Nelson led the boys with a fourth place finish in the long jump, a new PR of 18-02. He also took fifth in the javelin with a distance of 114-05, and eighth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.68.
Braxton Johns placed seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:28.13.
Simon Stepanek took eighth place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.45, a new personal record.
The 4x100 relay team of Daniel Dennison, Stepanek, Tucker Thomas, and Nelson took fifth place with a time of 52.14.
The Mules travel to Ilwaco today (Thursday).
