Making your own flower pots

On April 25, 6 p.m., Cowlitz County Master Gardener Phyllis Collins will teach how to make Hypertufa garden pots and planters.

Hypertufa is the art of making lightweight cement pots. In this class participants will mix the ingredients, cast a planter, get ideas, learn techniques, and gain the knowledge to make more forms at home. Projects will be taken home. The class cost is $20 per person. Pre-registration is required and must be paid by April 16. Class size is limited to 12.

The class will be held in the Floral Building located on the Cowlitz County fairgrounds in Longview. The workshop is sponsored by Washington State University Extension Master Gardeners. For more information, contact Carlee Dowell at 577-3014 Ext 0 or DowellC@co.cowlitz.wa.us.
