WIAA honors Mule, Comet athletes

Two local high school athletes have been honored as athletes of the week by the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA).

As reported by the WIAA, they are:

--James Anderson, Wahkiakum, Baseball (JR). Anderson blasted two grand slams and collected 12 RBI in the Mules’ double-header sweep of Winlock, on 4/9. He combined for a two-hitter in the opening game, including four strikeouts over two innings.

--Chase Haatia, Naselle, Baseball (SO). Haatia picked up three RBI, and tossed 2 1/3 innings in a non-league loss to Knappa (Oregon).
