Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
To The Eagle:
While out for a walk Wednesday the 21st the first SWAT vehicle of many passed me and I watched it's path. Nothing good happening but I was relieved when I saw it not going towards the school.
Then on Thursday the 22nd I was disappointed. These are uncertain, anxiety filled times for our students. All they wanted was to feel a sense of unity. To feel that they could do something, however inconsequential, to be part of the conversation and they were punished for the crime of taking part in a short remembrance of those who lost their lives at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Shame on those at the school here who perpetuate the concept that "No good deed goes unpunished." If my kids went to school here I guarantee I'd be well known in the office by now. Nonetheless I am proud to know that amongst the youth of today there is leadership material standing out. Damn the consequences these kids did, they're our future leaders and present day heroes, at least to me.
