Wahkiakum alumnae excel at college basketball

Wahkiakum alum Baylee Olsen, a junior transfer to Cal State San Marcos, just finished her third season of collegiate basketball. Beset by illness this year, she struggled a bit, but according to mom, Shelley Olsen, her coach has high hopes for her senior year. Olsen played 24 games, averaging 16.5 minutes, 4.5 points, and 1.9 rebounds. Against Azusa Pacific on November 24, she scored 18 points, pulled down five rebounds and had one block and one steal. Wahkiakum alum Peyton Souvenir has finished her first season with the Lewis-Clark State College basketball team. The freshman was awarded an All Conference Honorable Mention. She started 28 of 31 games and averaged 27.5 minutes and 9.5 points per game. She led her team in assists, finishing the season with 138. She led the Frontier Conference in assists and was 13th in the nation in the same category. She led the Warriors in steals with 48 and free throw percentage (.873).
