Lorena Fay Biem, 73, formerly of Skamokawa, died March 7, 2018 at Hospice Care Center in Longview.
She was born January 2, 1945 to Ralph and Nettie Galbraith in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She graduated from Bonners Ferry High School and attended Eastern Washington University. She received her LPN degree and started her nursing career at Eastern WA State Hospital.
After moving her four daughters to Skamokawa in 1982 she began her work at Columbia View Care Center in Cathlamet. She was an active member at United Methodist Church in Skamokawa and a member of United Methodist Women. She enjoyed volunteering at the Wahkiakum County Fair.
She is survived by her daughters Terri Elfers, Lisa Rockhill, Marvina Childers and Erica Biem, a sister Ruby Johnson, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 10 siblings of which she was the youngest, and a grandson James Taylor Childers.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17 at Skamokawa Methodist Church at 1 p.m. with a potluck social to follow. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
