Sheriff's Report, March 8, 2018

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 26 — 11:07 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who may have had a stroke. 11:42 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with low blood oxygen levels. 1:34 p.m. A deputy and a Department of Corrections officer served a warrant at an Elochoman Valley home.

February 27 — 9:24 a.m. A driver was cited for speed and having an expired registration. 12:10 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident who had fallen. 4:18 p.m. A Skamokawa resident was having mental health issues, according to a caller. The family was concerned and had taken away his weapons. 11:34 p.m. A child reported a domestic disturbance at a Skamokawa home. Deputies arrived and took a man into custody. The Skamokawa ambulance responded and gave aid to the woman who appeared to have been strangled and possibly had some broken ribs.

February 28 — 11:26 a.m. A driver was cited for speed on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 2:03 p.m. A representative from the mental health department asked for a deputy to speak to a client. 5:06 p.m. A caller reported a calf was loose on an Elochoman Valley road. A message was left for the owner. 7:40 p.m. Despite a restraining order, a woman said that her ex-husband had called her twice that day and had shared something that she had posted on social media. The man was contacted, and he agreed to turn himself in.

March 1 — 10:57 a.m. A caller reported that two cows were loose on an Elochoman Valley road. The owner was contacted. 9:56 p.m. A caller reported seeing a truck trying to drive up a bank instead of using the roadway near the Skamokawa boat launch.

March 2 — 9:59 a.m. Someone had video of a vehicle tearing up the parking lot at Rosburg Hall. 2:23 p.m. A man involved in a domestic disturbance asked for a civil standby to get his belongings from a home after being released from custody.

March 3 — 8:14 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported a trespasser. 8:29 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was in pain. 10:02 a.m. A parent in Cathlamet reported that a juvenile had not come home the day before. 11:09 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosburg resident who was not answering her phone. A deputy made contact with the woman. 11:58 a.m. A caller complained about an aggressive dog and his owner at the marina in Cathlamet. 9:57 p.m. A caller reported two trespassers at a Deep River home. A deputy investigated, but the men were gone. 11:49 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who was in a lot of pain.

March 4 — 8:18 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident who was having trouble breathing. 9:09 a.m. A caller reported seeing a vehicle that had gone off the road in the Grays River area. It appeared to be unoccupied. 11:07 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle prowl at a Deep River home. 1:46 p.m. A caller reported that an individual was suicidal. The mental health department was en route. 3:46 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that a neighbor’s pig was on his property.
