The Naselle-Grays River Valley School District Board of Directors met for its monthly meeting on February 20 in Middle School Commons.
The board approved the hiring of Robert Baker as head track coach and Scott Smith as assistant track coach. The board acknowledged the resignation of Greg Nelson as middle school track coach. The board approved a one year extension of the superintendent’s contract.
Other items of business that were approved included overnight travel for winter sports and activities, the acknowledgement of unsafe walk routes within one mile of the school, a resolution to declare district property as surplus, and the adoption of the Board/Superintendent Operating Principles for the 2017-18 school year.
Senior Zach Thorson presented the class trip proposal to the board for consideration. The board approved the trip for two days in Sunriver, Ore., with money the students had raised throughout their high school years.
The next board meeting will be on March 20 in the Middle School Commons, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
