Chamber prepares for crab feed; sets meeting

The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce is preparing for one of its biggest events of the year, the 33rd Annual Crab and Oyster Feed.

The event will be February 17 at the Norse Hall on Puget Island in Cathlamet.

Tickets are $32 and sold at Bank of the Pacific, Cathlamet.

Proceeds go towards the Bald Eagle Days Fireworks. Bald Eagle Days is a Wahkiakum Chamber Sponsored Event.

Diners must be age 21 or older. Beer and wine will be sold; diners may not bring their own alcohol to the site. Diners should bring their own condiments and cracking tools. There will be a raffle.

The next Chamber meeting will be Wednesday, February 14, 8 a.m., at Maria’s Place in Cathlamet. The meeting is changed from the traditional Tuesday luncheon to Wednesday breakfast in an attempt to make the time more convenient for attendance.

One does not have to be a member of the Chamber to attend the meeting. Members welcome anyone who wants to contribute thoughts and ideas for the betterment of the community, and wants to know what is happening locally.

The Chamber Commerce is dedicated to supporting local business, encouraging economic development, and fostering community interaction and involvement.
