Lady Mules dump Vikes, start district Saturday

The Wahkiakum Mules girls basketball team ended their regular season with a big win against Mossyrock on Friday, 69-27. Their first district game is scheduled for Saturday, February 10, in the third round of the tournament, time and place to be determined.

The Lady Mules pulled ahead of the Vikings by 18 points in the first quarter and never looked back.

Ellie Leitz led the team with 17 points and nine rebounds. Senior Maddy Mace scored 13 points in her final game at home. Macie Elliott added 11 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Paige Mace had 10 points. Mckensi Fluckiger scored eight points and had four steals. Charlie Ashe and Alex Watkins scored four points apiece. Jansi Merz added two points and seven rebounds.

The Lady Mules will go into the post season as the second place seed in the Central 2B league. Their record is 15-1 in league and 17-3 overall.
