The Wahkiakum Mules girls basketball team split games on the road this week against Rainier and Napavine, bringing their record to 9-1 in league, and 11-3 overall.
Rainier proved to be no match for the Lady Mules on Thursday. Wahkiakum won 63-12.
Five players hit double digits. Ellie Leitz led the team with 14 points, nine rebounds, five steals and two blocks. Mckensi Fluckiger had 10 points and six steals. Macie Elliott had 10 points and six assists. Charlie Ashe and Maddy Mace added 10 points apiece. Paige Mace had three points. Jansi Merz had two points and eight rebounds. Nai’a Freeman and Alex Watkins had two points each.

On Tuesday, the team traveled to Napavine to play the league leading Tigers and lost 71-30.
P. Mace and Leitz led the team with eight points apiece. Leitz also had six rebounds. Elliott scored seven points. Ashe had three points. Merz scored three points and pulled down six boards. Kimberly Watkins added one point.
"Napavine is really good and we have a lot to work on,” Coach Rob Garrett said. “The girls will bounce back. We just have to keep getting better every game.”
