Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The Wahkiakum County PUD Board of Commissioners gathered for what turned out to be a quick meeting on Tuesday morning.
General Manager Dave Tramblie reported that the new reception counter in the PUD had been installed and they were making some changes to the heating duct work to keep employees comfortable. A new phone system is in the works as well.
Tramblie gave an update on his work with engineers at Gray & Osborne. A new Western Wahkiakum Water System comprehensive plan, which will cost the PUD approximately $18,000, has been given the go ahead, and a scratch test and wall thickness test are planned for the Puget Island water main to determine its condition.
“I think 2017 was a good year for the utility,” Commissioner Dennis Reid said during his report. “All of the systems financially have improved. The Pacific County intertie was the gold star of the year. That was a great accomplishment.”
The next PUD meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16 at 8:30 a.m. in the PUD meeting room.
