Audry Louise Odegaard Lynch died December 13, 2017 at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Astoria, OR. She was born July 6, 1930 in Lakeview, Oregon. She attended Oregon State College where she met her future husband, Jim Lynch, at the Newman Center. They were married September 23, 1950. They lived in Vancouver, WA, until Jim was hired by Boeing and they moved to Seattle. During Jim’s career they also lived in Cocoa Beach, FL, Santa Maria, CA, Crawley, England, and Baltimore, MD.
Audry loved family, traveling, sewing, gardening and fishing. Upon retiring and moving to Cathlamet, she and Jim were active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Wahkiakum Search and Rescue. Audry was a member of the River City Strippers Quilt Guild, a WSU Master Gardener, and a volunteer tax preparer. Her most recent project was making quilts for all of her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Audry is survived by her children, Terri (Ron) Bernards, Don (Ann) Lynch, John (Chrissy) Lynch, Paul Lynch, her brothers, Billy (Kay) Odegaard, Gerald Odegaard, Maurice (Sherry) Odegaard, sisters, Donna (Bob) Eshelman, Helen (Frank) Yakely, 20 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jim, daughter, Karen (Steve) Kness and grandson Jeffrey.
A funeral service is planned for December 22 at 11 a.m., at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Cathlamet followed by internment at the Ilwaco Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Cathlamet Fire Department or Wahkiakum Search and Rescue.
