Sheriff's Report, December 14, 2017

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

December 3 — 2:17 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who had fallen. 3:51 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that suspicious people were taking things off a neighbor’s porch. A deputy contacted the homeowner who said that the individuals had permission to remove the items. During the incident, a juvenile was trespassed by another property owner. 11:29 p.m. An agency in Cowlitz County requested assistance in locating an individual who was threatening suicide.

December 5 — 5:37 a.m. A caller reported that cows were loose and on his property on Greenwood hill. 6:25 a.m. A motorcycle accident was reported in the Rosedale area. The rider said he was uninjured and there was no damage to his bike. 6:53 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Skamokawa address. A deputy investigated and found everything secure. 8:57 a.m. A caller reported that he was suicidal and tried to harm himself. A deputy responded, and the mental health department was notified.

December 6 — 7:14 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had stolen all of his furnace oil during the night. According to the caller, he’d had 100 gallons delivered the day before. 7:57 a.m. An alarm was activated at an east county address. 9:43 a.m. Someone found a wallet and brought it to the sheriff’s office. The owner was contacted. 6:03 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident with respiratory issues. 6:27 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone may have tried to scam his mother over the phone. She had received a phone call from someone claiming to be her grandson. The caller said he had been in an accident and was now in jail. He asked for money.

December 7 — 9:27 a.m. A caller reported a theft at a Rosedale home. 2:35 p.m. A caller reported an injured porcupine along SR 4 in the Alger Creek area. A deputy dispatched the animal. 9:10 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after a domestic violence call in the Rosedale area. 11:43 p.m. The Pacific County sheriff’s office asked for assistance in locating an individual involved in what they were describing as a sexually motivated residential burglary. Pacific County had the man in custody the next day. 11:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual with a broken finger. 11:59 p.m. An individual was in custody after assaulting an officer.

December 8 — 10:30 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident who had fallen and hurt his leg. 12:14 p.m. A disturbance was reported on a Puget Island road. 12:24 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Skamokawa resident complaining of chest pain. 2:24 p.m. A caller reported receiving death threats via email. 6:13 p.m. A caller reported a large box blocking one lane on the Puget Island bridge. 8:12 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 just west of County Line Park.

December 9 — 2:33 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious individual looking in cars in Cathlamet. 3:08 a.m. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded when a vehicle went into a ditch on Puget Island. An individual was taken into custody after a field sobriety test. 9:22 a.m. A Little Cape Horn resident reported a missing leaf blower. 5:25 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had siphoned gas from her vehicle. 6:07 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen and hit her head.

December 10 — 2:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had kidney stones. 2:41 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a line was down and the power was out. The Puget Island Fire Department responded, and the PUD was notified.
