Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
November 20 — 7:58 a.m. A Deep River resident asked to speak to a deputy about a civil dispute regarding some trees that were cut down. 8:03 a.m. Several roads in the Grays River area were closed due to high water. 12:28 p.m. A caller was concerned about two horses standing in water in a field just west of Skamokawa.
November 21 — 7:57 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosedale resident. 4:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient complaining of dizziness and weakness to the hospital. 6:43 p.m. A deputy, the Cathlamet ambulance, and the District 4 Fire Department responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on SR 4 near Flandersville. 8:03 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident with a rapid heart rate. 9:14 p.m. Several roads in the Grays River area were closed due to high water. 11:05 p.m. A Rosburg resident called after an alarm had been activated and he found evidence that someone had broken into his garage.
November 22 — 3:14 a.m. A caller reported hearing someone screaming. 10:49 a.m. A caller reported a “possible situation” at a school in Cathlamet.
November 23 — 2:22 a.m. A caller reported that a tree had come down and was blocking all lanes of SR 4 on the west side of KM. 11:19 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was sick and had fainted. 11:21 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who had lost consciousness. 6:59 p.m. A caller reported that a suspicious man was pounding on a neighbor’s shed in Cathlamet. A deputy made contact with the man who said he was there to fix the shed. The homeowner verified his story. 11:01 p.m. A caller complained about noise coming from a neighboring home.
November 24 — 10:48 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a prowler. 12:45 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who may have broken a leg. 6:58 p.m. A caller reported that a man in a wheelchair who appeared to be intoxicated and a transient had been dropped off in Cathlamet. A deputy conducted a welfare check and determined that the man was homeless, but had food, clothing, and was not committing any crimes. 10:37 p.m. A deputy, the Grays River ambulance, and the Grays River Fire Department responded to a one vehicle rollover accident in Grays River.
November 25 — 10:54 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on two people who had not shown up at a family gathering. At 11:40 a.m., the caller reported that they had heard from the couple. 11:41 a.m. A caller reported seeing a deer caught in wire. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was contacted.
November 26 — 12:58 a.m. A caller reported that she had heard that a child was threatening to run away from her home. 7:28 p.m. A deputy conducted a welfare check at an Elochoman Valley home after a 911 call from there was disconnected. Everything was okay. 7:29 pm. An individual with a warrant was taken into custody at a park in Cathlamet. 10:01 p.m. A caller reported that his car had broken down after he struck a deer on a Grays River road. He said he would move the car the following day. State patrol called later to ask for the driver’s phone number after determining that his vehicle was blocking the road.
