Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
November 13 — 1:54 p.m. A business in Cathlamet requested a patrol at closing time after a man was seen watching employees. 3 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a phone scam. 5:35 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who had suffered a head injury in a fall. 7:11 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a disturbance at home. An individual was taken into custody.
November 14 — 1:30 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to Vista Park to aid a dredge crewman who was very nauseous. 7:30 a.m. Deputies and state patrol responded to a tractor trailer rollover accident in Grays River. No injuries were reported. 12:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and a deputy responded when a truck went into a ditch on the east end of KM. 2:50 p.m. A caller in Cathlamet reported that some propane tanks had been stolen. 4:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 5:49 p.m. A caller reported a phone scam. 6:12 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient to the hospital. 6:44 p.m. A vehicle struck a deer on SR 4 in Skamokawa. The deer was moved off the highway. 10:19 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who may have suffered a stroke.
November 15 — 5:38 a.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire on Puget Island when smoke was seen inside the house. Five people were evacuated, but no flames or smoke were seen outside the house. All other units were told to stand down and the PUD was notified. 9:29 a.m. A caller reported that there was water over a roadway in Eden Valley. 3:10 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that a caller had been threatening to sexually assault her children every day for weeks. 3:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident complaining of high blood pressure and chest pain. 5:09 p.m. The sheriff’s office received a fax from Adult Protective Services that stated that a caretaker may be taking financial advantage of an adult under his care.
November 16 — 9:34 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a fire alarm that was activated in Cathlamet. The alarm was reset. 4:31 p.m. Smoke alerts were activated at a home in Cathlamet. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded and found nothing. 8:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Alger Creek resident complaining of stomach pain.
November 17 — 6:58 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had broken down in the westbound lane of SR 4 just west of County Line Park. 7:18 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported ongoing harassment. 8:30 a.m. A duress alarm was activated at a Cathlamet business. 10:13 a.m. A deputy escorted a Cathlamet student to his parent’s vehicle and spoke to him about some difficulties he was having in class. 11:12 a.m. A dog was found on Beaver Creek. 11:26 a.m. A caller from a Cathlamet school reported that a student was afraid to go home due to alleged abuse. A deputy spoke with the student and determined that the child was worried about “parental discipline.” 5:19 p.m. A caller reported an attempted burglary in Skamokawa. A deputy investigated. 8:05 p.m. A dog was found in Rosburg.
November 18 — 5:41 a.m. A Cathlamet resident was concerned about a juvenile that had not returned home. She asked deputies to be on the lookout for the youth. The parent called again at 8:17 a.m. and said that she wanted to file a missing juvenile report. An individual reported that he had seen the youth in Rosedale at approximately 4:30 p.m. the day before. After more investigation, deputies determined that the youth was in Longview with two other juveniles. 1:04 p.m. A contempt warrant was served on an individual in Cathlamet. 3:31 p.m. A Cathlamet resident requested assistance with a juvenile. The parent called again at 3:41 p.m. and said that a deputy wasn’t needed. 6:12 p.m. An individual got lost in the woods near Fossil Creek Road and asked for assistance. He was located at 6:49 p.m. 10:26 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that his vehicle had been stolen by a family member. At 10:43 p.m., his vehicle was returned.
November 19 — 10:52 a.m. A caller reported a truck parked on private property in Rosburg. 3:36 p.m. A search warrant was served at a Puget Island residence. 4:06 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that a child was fighting with him and threatening to run away. 4:49 p.m. A camper at County Line Park refused to pay camp fees, threatened the camp host and appeared to be intoxicated. 6:03 p.m. A caller reported a driver was in the wrong lane and almost hit him on a corner in the Elochoman Valley. 7:33 p.m. A caller reported a tree limb on SR 4 in the Flandersville area.
