At the Wahkiakum County Port 1 meeting on Nov. 9, Counsel Tim Hanigan updated the commissioners about a recent meeting with Town of Cathlamet officials regarding their sewer accounts.
“They will reduce our overall bill by a small amount,” Hanigan said, “but they will reduce the RV park by a substantial amount. Overall the bill will go down almost $200.”
One of the port’s accounts, designated as the marina, which includes the office complex, laundry, showers, restroom, and other public amenities, is being increased from 2 Equivalent Customer Units (ECU) to 5 ECU's.
The first reading for the ordinance change was done at the town council meeting on Monday, November 21 and passed 4-0. There will be two more readings in December. If it passes, it will be implemented in December 2017.
