Class 1B Football Playoffs--Comets reach quarterfinals

The Naselle Comets advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class 1B football playoffs with a 72-20 win over visiting Neah Bay last week.

The Comets scored twice in the first quarter and three times in the second to lead 36-6 at halftime. They added 22 points in the third quarter and 12 in the fourth to complete the rout.

The 8-2 Comets will take on 9-2 Almira-Coulee-Hartline this Saturday, 1 p.m., at Montesano High School's stadium. The winner will play the winner of the Lummi-Tacoma Baptist game in the semifinals on November 25.

In the other quarter finals, Garfield-Palouse takes on Odessa, and Cusick plays Sunnyside Christian.
